Dark Energy Pre Workout Review: 1 Scoop & Shocking Effects!
Today, we will be covering a product that has been on our radar for a few months.
I'm talking about the Dark Energy pre workout by Magnitude Life Sciences.
There's a big chance you've already heard about this product, as many people claim it's one the most potent pre's available right now.
Of course, that led to us researching this supplement thoroughly.
Once we came across Dark Energy's ingredient panel, which includes a wide variety of hard-hitting stimulants, we were astonished.
It doesn't just contain any stimulant, but it holds the prohibited and highly potent compound DMAA.
Read on as we give you a comprehensive review of Dark Energy, including the ingredients, effects, and benefits.
The best part of this review?
I've gone ahead and tested this pre workout for myself. That means I'll be providing you with a non-biased, no-holds-barred review based on my experience.
I've gotten word that the company behind Dark Energy, Magnitude Life Sciences, has been shut down. This was most likely because of the use of DMAA, a prohibited compound, but we're not 100% sure.
Since they've been shut down, Dark Energy is no longer being manufactured. Most retailers have stopped selling it, meaning it's gone forever.

My Experience With Dark Energy
After several months of keeping my eye on Dark Energy, I decided to give this DMAA pre workout a shot.
I always wanted to see what the hype was about and if it really was that strong. So, I managed to get my hands on a tub (it wasn't cheap!).
The flavor I went with was ”Blast”, nothing special to say about it, really. It wasn't that good, but not that bad either. Drinking it was no problem.
It took about half an hour, and that's when I could feel Dark Energy was kicking in. I pulled up to the gym and was ready to start my workout.
Remember, it contains both DMAA and DMHA, so it hits you hard all of a sudden. That's where the fun begins…
Training On Dark Energy
I'm starting my workout, and, wow, Dark Energy is doing its job. It's working at full force as my energy is through the roof.
The combination of 60mg DMAA, 200mg DMHA, and 400mg Caffeine in one scoop is absolutely insane. Even as an experienced user myself, I found it to be a bit too much.
The energy was outstanding, and it also gave me that sense of urgency some people speak about. I felt pretty zoned out during my workout, meaning it might've been a bit too much of the good stuff.
The extra energy helped me through an intense, 2-hour back and bicep workout. Of course, I managed to get more reps and sets than when I'm not using a pre workout.
Besides the significant increase in energy, you'll also notice that you're super focussed when training. If there's something I genuinely enjoy, it's the laser-like focus you get from pre workouts.
That just makes the workout so much better and intense.
The pumps weren't anything special, though. But I have to add that Dark Energy doesn't pack any pump ingredients besides Citrulline Malate at a 2:1 ratio.
Once my workout was done, I experienced a crash, which was pretty horrible. It was to be expected since you're getting so many stims at once. After taking it, I was unproductive.
To conclude my experience, Dark Energy definitely delivers, but maybe, it delivers too much at a full scoop. The main things I noticed were the explosive energy and laser focus – leaving the pump behind.
All in all, I rate the Dark Energy pre workout a 7.1/10. It's a shame that the pumps weren't there and that it caused a pretty heavy crash. Otherwise, it would've scored higher.
Dark Energy Pre Workout Must-KNows
We've been keeping an eye on Dark Energy for several months now. On top of that, I've purchased a bottle and used it a handful of times.
There are several things you need to know about this product before using it:
- Dark Energy contains 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA), making it a prohibited product.
- It is NOT for beginners; even experienced users use it with caution!
- There is 400mg of Caffeine Anhydrous in one serving.
- One container holds 30 servings.
- The tub claims it's a ”research product”.
- Besides the 60mg of DMAA, it also contains 200mg of DMHA.
- It's slowly disappearing off the market.
As you can see, there's a lot to take into consideration when it comes to this pre.
Educate yourself and make sure you know what you're doing.
Is Dark Energy Pre Workout Safe?
Since Dark Energy is an extremely powerful pre workout, many people question its safety.
To understand if this product is safe for you or not, you need to know its ingredients.
First of all, it contains 1,3-dimethylamylamine, known by many as DMAA. It's a potent synthetic amphetamine that helps ramp up energy for more explosive workouts, but it has many disadvantages, which is why it has been a banned substance for years now.
However, that hasn't prevented Magnitude Life Sciences from putting it in their pre workout, which is extremely alarming.
But, it doesn't stop there. On top of the DMAA, you're also going to find a hefty amount of DMHA (200mg) and 400mg of Caffeine anhydrous in a single serving.
All these stimulants work together, which further amplifies its effects. I find that all these three together can create a dangerous combination.
Especially if you're tolerant to stims, you won't be having a good time, trust me.
Even though I've tried it myself and had good workouts on it, I would not recommend taking the Dark energy pre workout.
Simply because it's just too much. I'm very experienced with pre workouts, and I had the idea that all these stims combined were just going overboard.
My preference goes out to products like regular Wrecked or Wrecked Extreme, which contains many potent stimulants, but hits the spot just right.
Dark Energy Pre Workout Ingredients
Dark Energy has built up quite the reputation for its high stimulant label. Let's take a closer look at the formula and the kind of ingredients you're going to find:
As someone who’s been in the fitness industry for a long time, I know that a lot of people know all about stims.
According to the label, each dose of this pre-workout contains 60mg of DMAA, which is a LOT, to say the least.
Keep in mind that DMAA is on the FDA’s banned stimulants list, so it’s hard to find it on most other pre-workout supplements.
I should note that I’ve tried pure DMAA that I acquired from a shop before, and it gave an insane surge of energy.
GABA is a neurotransmitter like amino acid that works by attaching itself to the GABA receptors in your brain, effectively repressing your central nervous system.
This means that it calms the mood and makes you way more chilled out. But, as with anything, different people react differently to the oral consumption of the GABA ingredient.
This pre-workout supplement contains 6 grams of citrulline malate per serving. With all things considered, this is a proper and moderate dosage to help you enhance workout intensity.
DMHA acts similarly to DMAA, with the main difference being that you need to take it in more significant dosages.
That’s why it’s such a popular pre-workout ingredient with many companies. But, from the looks of things, it’s starting to look like the FDA might also limit or even eliminate its use as an ingredient in supplement products as the organization has sent warning letters to companies that have these ingredients in their products.
Clearly, Dark Energy makers didn’t get the memo because they not only include DMHA in their product but DMAA as well. This is probably why the supplement has become so popular in such a short amount of time.
Caffeine is a popular stimulant known for it's performance enhancing abilities.
Therefore, you will find it in many pre workout supplements. You can find it in products like Preseries Bulk and Total War as well.
DMAE is a type of choline molecule which is typically utilized to heal old-age-onset cognitive decline.
However, it has been shown to improve overall wellbeing and focus, which is why it’s often incorporated in pre-workout supplements.
There’s no real understanding of dosing guidance as about the enhancement of performance, but I do know that 750mg is a massive dose considering that this is a pre-workout.
Beta-Alanine is known for its ability to induce “tingle-like” sensations in the body and there’s a standard dose of it in this pre-workout.
There's no denying that this is a high stimulant formula that'll hit you hard. It reminds me of Dark Labs Crack and 1'3 Volt.
Dark Energy Pre-Workout is undoubtedly a solid pre-workout supplement that will take your workout intensity to an entirely new level.
From my experience, I can safely say that it enhances energy levels and cognitive functions when training. But, unfortunately, it doesn't deliver any pumps.
After the workout, you're most likely to experience a crash because of the many stimulants Dark Energy combines. And honestly, I found the combination of DMAA and DMHA to be overkill.
Beginners should definitely steer clear of this product. I recommend everyone to start with half a scoop.
I'm glad I tried it, though, but in my opinion, there are definitely better options out there that'll also cost less.
Plus, Dark energy is prohibited and gets harder and harder to get your hands on.
If you want my recommendation, check out Huge Nutrition's Wrecked Extreme if you want a hard-hitting and high stimulant pre workout.
I've had some of the best workouts of my entire life while on that pre; it's incredible. It also doesn't cause a crash, so check it out if you can.
